Your best bet would be to fly into Kiev. It is surpringly inexpensive. According to my Ukrainian
girlfriend, it might be best to take the train to your friend's city.
Yes, we will be jumping through some hoops, too, should we decide to get married and bring her to the States. She has a friend who is in the process now. Her fiance visited in April of 2000, and she expects to emigrate around January.
Patience is the key! You might want to visit withan attorney who specializes in immigration issues, so if you do travel to see her you can be sure to cover all the bases.
