I was participan of Mr.Oryshkevich's program in 2001.

I think I've got a lot more of discouraging information than you did. However, I am in the US now. If you want to come to this country, even the discouraging information is helpful. It is still information, and you can use it to do your way. Not to mention there is not that much information about this topic available.

: : Shanovnyi p. Bohdan Oryshkevych,
: : I've been following up on your responses on this board for quite a long time. I have to admit that I noticed one pattern with your answers: for one reason or another all of the Ukrainian students are not good enough to study in the States. There are either no scholarships for them, or there are enough doctors in the States (so no more are needed), or something along these lines. I was a student from Ukraine myself in the university here in the States on temp visa and all that good stuff that you talk about. And guess what I received my nursing degree from one of the prestigious universities in America, and now getting ready for medical school. I had a scholarship from States, and in two years after being here I was paying in state tuition. There is nothing impossible in America. If you ask, you get it, but of coarse not asking people like you. May be if Ukrainians in American were more supportive of our own people it would help not only those Ukr who are in States, but also in Ukraine. For young Ukrainians don't come to States to invade it, they come to seek opportunities and share their knowledge, culture, and heart, and the only thing that is needed is a little bit of faith in our own people. So please be more supportive, and stop your unneccessary discouragements.

: You right for all 100%. However, we should give him a credit for his effort to inform us - 'forth wave' about some realities of getting education in the US. It is irritating to get from him dicouraging advise! I don't think he is doing it on purpose - it just that mentality of 'baniaks'(sometimes it's getting even worse among educated 'baniaks'!). It seems like it was and is a root of all miscommunications between new and old ukrainians in America.
: Important to remember that you are FREE in a FREE country and all choices are yours. Do not fall into self-opressing 'matrix'- do research on your own. Opportunities are there and you have nothing to lose.
: Danylo
