Have you tried Amazon.com?
The Ukrainian shops in the U.S. don't (and won't) carry Russian language stuff, so you'll have to find Russian bookstores.

For Russian mateiral, check in the Brighton Beach area of Brooklyn. Plenty of bookstores there, and you're bound to find something on America. You'll have to be careful, though, to buy a recent edition. Anything pre-1991 is bound to be typical Soviet propaganda trash.

: I have a friend from Eastern Ukraine interested in books about America written in Russian. I have talked to a dozen book shops with no luck. She is interested in books about Indiana, Illinois, Chicago, history, society and stories about Ukrainians in America. Any ideas or suggestions?
