You are not alone, my friend. Many of us have been done in different ways and paying our ex(es) and penalties and other expences and noone cares about where we have to take money from....
Welcome to our quite substantial society of loosers.Get settled. You are in this club for long long time.Or you think that you 're better then us?

: Since your having such good relationship with your wife, why don't you get married again??? (Or at least for a period of time which will satify INS's needs and not yours....)

: ???? ??????!

: : I’ve received my greencard in 1995 and now I decided to apply for the naturalization. While filling out form N-400 I’ve discovered that I have to include information on my “Marital History”. I am divorced; I have one kid and my ex have custody of our child. Therefore, according to the “Guide to Naturalization” (p.44) I have to send to the processing center along with my N-400 form, “any court or government order to provide financial support; AND Evidence of your financial support (including evidence that you complied with any court or government order), such as: - cancelled checks
: : - money order receipts
: : - a court or agency printout
: : - evidence of wage garnishments
: : - a letter from the parent or guardian who cares for your children”.
: : I paid to my ex cash. We have nice relationship so we trust each other so I didn’t know that I would need to have to produce such evidence as “cancelled checks”. So I thought that a notarized letter from my ex to the INS in which my ex would testify that I paid child support in full according to the court decree would be sufficient “evidence of my financial support”. I went to the local INS to ask about a form of such letter. What they told me in INS made me speechless. They, basically, told me that only evidence that they will believe is cancelled bank checks AND my bank statements that would show that money were withdrawn. Anything else will fall short. That told me that burden of proof lays on me and it’s up to me to decide what to do. They told me that I can bring letter to the interview or anything else but it will not be sufficient evidence. Checks and only checks can make my interview successful.

: : What shell I do? Any ideas? Anyone?
