I believe your wife can travel to the Ukraine with a K-1 visa and be allowed to reenter when she returns to the US, but she needs to apply for "Advance Parole", which costs $110.00, which gives her the permission to enter and leave the United States however many times she wishes. If she leaves the United States without advance parole she won't be allowed to reenter the US when she returns. You can download the forms at the INS website at www.ins.gov
