You didn't mention if you're a citizen or not and for how long. This is important in determining who you can bring and when. Here is a website with a lot of information:

I am not a lawyer, but all I can say is that it's much harder to bring someone other than your wife, husband, children and parents but not impossible. Check out the website. It may have the information you're looking for.
