With the majority of Ukrainians still hooked into the Internet at very low bandwidth, not to mention the fact that very few are truly Internet savvy, this is a highly impractical solution at this time. Not only that, but getting broadcast licenses for the web is not that easy no matter what you say about the costs. Therefore the choices of "on-demand" programming would be extremely limited, thereby limiting your client base, thereby making it completly cost-INeffective.
It would make far more sense to set up a cable television network. There was such a thing run by UBN for a short while, but because they insisted on selling you the $800 satellite in order to get reception, that made it prohibitive for most Ukrainians in the U.S. Nowadays, the satellite connectivity can be made via other existing networks, so it's incomprehensible to me why those who are in the business havent' already done something about it. Actually, there is a Chicago based operation - non-Ukrainian - that is working on exactly thing idea. It is unfortunate, therefore, that Ukrainians havent' figured out a way to do this and profit it by it themselves.
: From experience I know there are many Ukrainians around the world that long for a good soccer game or an evening of news in Ukrainian, from Ukraine. In the US there is absolutely no way to view Live Ukrainian TV or for that matter any form of original content from Ukraine. The internet is quickly reaching faster and much more stable speeds along with improved internet services in Ukraine. I propose a joint venture allowing internet users around the world to watch live streaming media from Ukraine. This service would include recorded news, allowing any user to watch TV on demand.
: Calculating current internet and set-up costs I believe the service would require at least a 50 household user base with a monthly fee of $10 to $30 per household depending on the nature of our joint ventures in Ukraine. Please contact me ASAP if you would be interested in participating either as a Ukraine based internet/service provider or world based user.

: P.S. As of May 1, 2002 all methods of implementing this idea have been tested and developed. Now it is in the hands of Ukrainians around the world!
