Congratulations,
This is a very worthwhile project. Do you know if these scholarships are also available for K-8 students?
St. John's Ukrainian School in Newark, NJ has quite a few new Ukrainian immigrant families that are in need of some financial help. This would be great if K-8 students quialify.
Thanks,
IHOP
: Education, legal rights, health care, employment would appear to be all priorities for new immigrants to America.
: I am based in New York City. I would look forward to setting up a mentoring program for gifted young Ukrainian and Ukrainian American children in the eighth and ninth grades and for older students in the tenth and eleventh grades here in New York City. Entry into this program would by exam, by applications, and by interviews. The aim would be for these students to obtain scholarships and financing for higher education. There are a variety of such scholarships available.
: Mentoring is proving to be a very successful activity in America. Its results are proven. There is a website devoted to this at www.mentoring.org
: I am writing this post to see how much interest there is in this. One person would be to network bright Ukrainian students.
: I have helped nearly thirty students from Ukraine win scholarships to America. I also interview students for Columbia College of Columbia University and have worked with students from most of the leading American universities.
: If someone would translate this into Ukrainian so that it is accessible to all I would be grateful.
