Це правда, що навчання є дороге але я знаю двох моложих українців хлопця і дівчину, які проживають в США нелегально (з батьками), немають жодних віз. Бо вже давно порушили візовий режим і обоє, цього року, поступили в коледжі на навчання (журналістика і електроніка), більше того отримали фінансову допомогу, яка практично покриває вартість їх навчання. Їм тільки доведеться доплатити відповідно 2000 і 1500 дол.
Важливо тільки знати де і в кого питати за порадою.
В Америці є достатньо розумних, доброзичливих і щирих людей.
: The comments and questions posted on this thread with reference to education are relatively simplistic. The HIAS scholarships are very small and are meant only for students already established in the USA and Israel.
: Education in America is very expensive. Education in a community college (the most economical path to reaching a baccalaureate degree) will cost about $10,000 per year if one includes living expenses. Community colleges are generally the only colleges that do not require proficiency in English. State college for residents will cost $10,000 to $15,000 per year wih living expenses. Private college education will cost as much as $35,000 per year with living expenses.
: Higher education is available only to legal immigrants. High school education is open to all students since the student is considered the dependent of an illegal alien. Student visas are available to those who can demonstrate that they have enough funds to pay for a full year's education.
: College (undergraduate baccalaureate) education scholarships for international students are exceedingly rare. Scholarships for graduate students (Kandidat) are much more plentiful. But all scholarships require complicated applications, application fees (usually about $50.00) and entrance exams which are available in Kyiv and in other cities of Ukraine. The total expense of these exams will range from $200.00 to $350.00. Only superior exam results will enable a student to win a scholarship at any level.
: Every major city in Ukraine has information offices about educational opportunities in America. These include Kyiv, Lviv, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Odesa, Simferopol, and Zaporizhzhia. Most are funded by the US government and have access to comprehensive databases. The British Council also runs offices. Some are staffed by American and European expatriates.
