first about further denials. The regulation is that if your application is denied, you can apply only after a half-a-year waiting period, so in my letters I asked no RECONSIDER the current case. I know cases though when people after denials eventually got their visas, but that was not a parent-child case.
Secondly, I was a citizen at that time, when I wrote to the Council and that was my main point - if my parents would wish to sneak into US for permanent stay, they WOULD NOT NEED a tourist visa, because with me being an American citizen they have a LEGAL RIGHT to reunute with me, which they CHOSE NOT TO EXCERCISE.
Finally, when they were here I persuaded them that it was a wise step to get their Green Cards. They applied for ADJUSTMENT of their statue to permanent and I sent my PETITION FOR AN ALIEN RELATIVE along with their applications. Altogether it took 2 years. During that time they stayed with me legally in spite of expired visa because their case was in process.
