The waiting period for N-400 to a large degree depends on what state you live in. If it is a border state, like here in CA, it might take 1.5-2 years. INS has a tendency to loose paperwork or do things even more embaressing as we now know.
Please make sure you bring documents prooving that you are still married to the same person (joint bank accounts, house titles, utility bills in both names, etc) even though they will not request these docs in the invitation for the interview. Otherwise your application will be pending until they get everything in order.
Don't worry about the citizenship test, if you write your messages without anybody's help, you will not have any problems passing the test. Your English is perfect. With your N-400 package you will receive sample test questions. Study those, plus review a couple of books on the test and you will be in good shape. Good luck, Tasha
