If you have on your papers for J-1 box marked
"required 2-year home country stay" then
you can't do anything about it.

But if this box is unmarked - then there is no
problem with switching to F-1 visa.

: : My J-1 is still valid for 10 more months, but I would like to become a full time student as soon as possible. Is it possible to change to a F-1? The two year rule does not apply for me... Please, give me a clue, nobody seems to be sure of that.... Thanks
