If a person holds citizenship in one country (eg Australia) and wants to get citizenship from another country (eg Ukraine), the question of whether the person will be able to retain the first citizenship, (eg Australian) depends on the laws of the first country (eg Australia), not on the laws of the second country (eg Ukraine).
Losing citizenship in a given country depends entirely on the laws of that country.
