: Howdy y'all!
: I am DV-2002 program winner. My interview is scheduled in the middle of February. As other winners before the interview, I am very nervous and anxious. Please let me know how long interview lasts and what kind of questions are asked... What are they looking for to make you fail? (PID SHO VONY KOPAUT')
: Thanks a world!

Andriyu!
Immigrant visa interviews are much easier than interviews for non-immigrant visas. In general, you must show that you do not fall into any of the categories that would make a person ineligible for entry. In general, you must not have a criminal record, not have lied on your application, not have an intention to come to the US and break US laws by exporting barred goods, by spying, or by performing any other illegal activity. If you have a record of cheating and stealing, that will be a problem.
Usually, there are only two grounds with which people have problems. One is that they have a communicable disease, such as AIDS or TB. With TB, the problem is smaller, b/c it is possible to take medecine and to find a doctor who will agree to monitor you for this purpose. AIDS is a greater problem, b/c it is so expensive to get the appropriate medicine, so that you will not become a public charge, even if you do not ppose a health threat.
The other ground is that of "public charge." You must be able to prove that either someone is willing to sign an affidavit of support for you, or that you have a definite job offer from a reputable company (this is difficult to prove to the satisfaction of INS), or that you have enough moeny, so that you can support yourself at 125% of the poverty level until you are able to find a job.
DV winners must also prove that they meet the DV requirements -- i.e. that they are citizens or natives of a country that is eligible for the DV, that they signed the application, that they are the same person who is in the photo, and that they meet the education or job experience requirements.
It is EXTREMELY important to tell the truth in an interview, b/c lying to Dept of State officials in visa interviews constitutes visa fraud and can bar you from entry into the US forever after.
If you signed your application and filled out the papers honestly, you should have no problems.
Good luck, and relax. People who are applying for visitor's and student visas face amuch more difficult interview than you will.
Good luck!
