There is some good news.
A proposal to suspend student visas has died in the US Senate. So student visas will continue without interruption.
Controls will be tighter. Students will benefit and need such a program as USA/USA which will prepare them for all of the new requirements.
At this time USA/USA is running only one program: a summer two week seminar on how to apply to American prep schools and colleges for gifted students from selected oblasts in Ukraine. Entrance to the program is highly competitive. In 2001 74 students applied for the 10 places available. In 2002 we expect as many as 100 applicants for our 10 places. Interested students are welcome to write to usa.usa@attglobal.net to see if they are eligible.
