Ukrainian government and ukrainian laws treat ukrainian citizens as a second class comparatively to foreigners.
By being ukrainian citizen and a Greeen Card holder going for residency outside of Ukraine
for any reason you cannot keep your private property (privatized appartament) according to discriminative Ukrainian laws against ukrainian citizens - you have to sell it (it's not stated clearly this way anywhere - but you have to give up your internal passport - what means you have be "vypysanym", what means you have to sell your property, since appartment can't be without anybody "propysanyho".
At the same time aliens who are not ukrainian citizens residing permanently outside of Ukraine according to the Ukrainian laws can own an appartments in Ukraine.
Ask Ukrainian consulate in USA/Canada office via e-mail the same question - you'll be amased
by such discrimination by Ukraine toward it's own
citizens.
