I completely agree with your almost poetic statement except for the part about Russians wanting to learn Baltic languages voluntarily. They are chauvinistic and just as in Ukraine do everything in their power to undermine the native languages. The Baltic States are much more strict in enforcing language changeover than Ukraine where Russians can get away with anti-Ukrainian language politics.
