I've been sending money through Western Union. This is the best way I think. It is fast, not expensive and I can be sure that my mother will get the money without any problems. When you send the money through Western Union, you get a MTSN (or something like that) number, then you make a call to Ukraine telling your relative the number. Your relative goes to a bank and gets the money without any problems (cash in dollars or in hryvni). When you send $1,000, you pay $68 for service. The money are ready to be picked up in Ukraine 15 minutes after you sent them.
