Actually, it seems more likely that those who *don't* win the green card lottery have more reason to seek out alternative ways to obtain legal status in the U.S. Besides, if the husband was too weak to withstand the feminine wiles of another and left you for her, then he probably wasn't worth holding on to. He'd have done it whether she came from Ukraine or from around the block.
