Dear folks:
I filed for asylum in January 1992. I received my SS# and Employment authorization shortly afterwards. Since then I have been extending my EAD on a yearly basis without any problems. In 1993 INS ran a check on me and was very happy with the info it received from the American source. I was left alone. My family is well established and financially secure.
My question is simple: when? Interview or smth. else?
The backlog of asylum cases is around 320.000. Did anybody experience the same situation? I have heard that the old cases have been put on a back burner.
