If you simply stop going to school, you will fall out of status. It is possible to change your visa category. It is also possible sometimes to get a leave of absence from the school and remain in status. You can talk about that with your foreign student advisor.
I practice immigration law. If you write to me, perhaps I can give you some more specific advice. A good site to get responses from immigration attorneys is "Immigration Lawyers on the Web." I think that their address is ilw.com or ilw.org. You can find them through any search engine.
Do NOT simply stop going to school.

: I'm a student with Visa F-1 for 4 years. Next semester will be my last year in school, but I need to take a year off from my studying. With my Visa F-1, what ca I do? I want to stay in the USA during this year. Is it possible to stay in the USA and be legal, or should I go to Ukraine.
