: Yes, you do have to have a proof of your financial hardship, something like a letter, a bill or any other evidence. For different people it works differently - I had lots of problems before I got it - they kept on asking for additional information and thus delaying. A friend of mine got her working permit, being a student, without any problem and without any proof. So it depends on their mood, I guess. But my recommendation is:furnish them with all documents possible proving that you are experiencing unexpected financial difficulty. Good Luck!
