Dear Katya, thanks for reply. I am gonna be in Tampa, Florida, but now I am in Iowa and we are trying to decide where to file - here or in Florida and we should do it fast, as we have to leave for Florida soon. Processing time for adjustment of status, according to INS customer service, in both centers is the same, but what matters for me here is a working permit, as I will have to support my husband, he is a medical student and has absolutely no time to work. Anyway, in Nebraska office (if we are in Iowa), working permit takes from 1 to 20 days, in Tampa (if we arein Florida) three months in the best case..
I am thinking about other alternative: File papers first to nebraska, get my working permit and then report the change of address, but I am afraid that it might delay the process and they might lose the documents (I heard so many horror stories about that..). What do you think?
