Theresa,

Good luck. You will need it. Doing business as a foreigner in Ukraine is really difficult. Actually, it is difficult for Ukrainians too. You are in for a lot of pain and suffering. I speak from a decade of experience, and I am fluent in Russian and Ukrainian--so you will run into comprehension problems I don't have to deal with.

You are lucky that Ukraine has recently dropped the requirements for med insurance and made registering easier, but the expensive visas still turn off foreign tourists.

But why are you posting your business related questions on a board for people who are interested in immigrating to the US or who have already immigrated?

I hope it works out for you.

: : "Don't bag someone just because they have the ability to speak out - whether it be here on the net, over the telephone, or in real life..." that what you said. Than why do you blame me for expressing my opinion?
: : And why do you think that Katerina is “selling her blood for the love of money “? Do you know her personally?
: : Did you go to the same high school? You know, my dear, I’m starting to think that you are way not as good as you try to pretend. Where is your love you put to ALL PEOPLE? As a matter of fact, everything you talk about is “I, I, I and me, me, me.” You know what? You better go to Ukraine and stay there for year or two. Then when you come back we’ll continue this conversation. May be that time we’ll start to use the common language.
: : Look at yourself first.

: For starters, Katerina has shown that she is perfectly capable of speaking for herself so please mind your own business - it had nothing to do with you and you only inflamed the situation more with your useless one liner comments.

: Secondly, cutting out lines of other peoples text changes the context of what one is saying - as per your opening statement to this message...(this is usually frowned upon on message boards too) and to clarify what I said in the context that I said it was as follows: "....whether it be here on the net, over the telephone or in real life - no one will bag out Ukraine and its' people whilst I am in the room!" Why do you have such a problem with this??

: Finally, you seem jealous that an Australian is doing more for Ukraine than you are. Why is that? No, I haven't lived in Ukriane all my life, no, my grasp of the language is not fantastic, but I have spent three out of the last seven years living there (Lviv) and I have a translator to help me with business meetings and discussions. Does this mean my efforts towards opening business in Ukraine are any less significant that if I HAD lived there all my life, or if I DID have a great grasp on the language? I think not.

: Follow your own advice and have a look at yourself before making silly, fruitless comments about others. If you have something intelligent to say, whether it agrees with my opinion or not, is irrelevant and you have every right to express it. But as I said above, silly one liner comments written just in spite are non-productive and a waste of time.

: THINK ABOUT IT!!
: Teresa
