Dear Irena,
You made me go back and read my own post wondering if I really said that Ukraine was a great place to live. Nope, I didn’t say that! I said Ukraine was a wonderful place with great people. Whether it’s the greatest place for you to live at or not, I don’t know and don’t really care.
I am totally aware of the Ukrainian Government and I do know what it’s like to live in Ukraine. It is a difficult place to live. And it doesn’t surprise me a bit. Is life supposed to be easy?? No matter where you are. Do you really expect easy living?? May be you know of a mysterious place where people live happily? Where is it?
And regarding ‘killed soul’. Fortunately communism did not kill the soul of ukrainian people. And the best proof of that is the number of foreigners who are attracted so much to Ukraine and its people. And instead of seeing it as ‘killed souls’ I’d rather call it a soul trade off. A lot of ukrainians have traded their souls for ‘better living’, even those who currently live in Ukraine. So, Irena, where does your soul belong to? Or may be it’s ‘killed by communism’?
Dmitri
PS. Whether I am ukrainian or not, I’ll let you make that call.
