: That is wrong. The last time I was there was 7 months ago. I specifically asked them that question. The resonse was simple. no visa required if visit is less than 90 days in a 6 month period. Here is what the consulate in Chicago sent: I recieved this 2 days ago:

: Attention: Starting July 1, 2005 Ukraine sets visa - free regime for U.S. citizens traveling to Ukraine on short-term (up to 90 days within the period of six months) tourist, business, cultural, sports or private visit (non-immigrant purposes).

: On 30 June 2005, President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko signed the Decree on the Establishment of Visa-Free Regime for Citizens of the United States of America, which introduced visa-free regime of entry to Ukraine and transit through its territory for U.S. citizens who may stay in Ukraine up to 90 days within the period of six months.
