Dear Ukrainian,
The main reason for me to get US citizenship is to avoid the possibility of being detained in Ukraine because I do not hold a so-called PMZh stamp (which I think is unconstitutional and is an old Soviet law which should have been abolished some time ago). I heard too many contradictory stories about people leaving without it and do not want to be taking any chances or being asked for bribes. The whole idea of putting a closure to the immigration process would greatly relieve me. Ukraine is not a democratic society and does not have a solid legal base which would provide security and trust in its systems and its processes. And, unfortunately, I do not see any opportunity for improvement in the near future.
Tell me if I am missing something or overreacting.
P.S. And yes, voting would be important to me since I live in this country.
