Hi, Lena!

My name is Anya.I live in US 10 years. Applied for citizenship 2.5 years ago. I just got a notice that my interview appointment is August 15.
The reason for the delay is that INS lost my check
when I initially submitted the fees with the application. After calling a few places, I was finally able to find out what the problem was, resubmitted the payment, which was $250 instead of $95 what I paid 2.5 years ago.
You're asking how long it takes. It depends on where you reside. I live in Sacramento, CA, and
it used to take about 2 yrs to get naturalized, now the process takes somewhere from 6 months to a year. My recommendation to you is that you have a professional who knows what he/she is doing when filing your application and submitting the paperwork. I hope your story would be better than mine. Good Luck!

: Hi!

: I am looking for anyone who has applied for US citizenship to share on the whole process - how long it takes, any problems with INS, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

: Lena
