I'd like to ask about anyone's experience of traveling to Ukraine with Ukrainian passport and a green card. Especially, American citizens with Ukrainian wives - please share your experience. My situation is this: I have a Ukrainian passport with my old name and a green card with my new married name. I have a marriage certificate that states my old and new name which I am going to get "apostilled" so it is acceptable in Ukraine. The question is: do I have any problem getting through Boryspil passport control on my way back? I called Ukr embassy in Chicago - they say that with the marriage certificate - no problem. I called JFK immigration, they say no problem entering the US. Obviously, there is no problem entering Ukraine as I have a valid international Ukrainian passport. The only end I cannot cover is getting out of Boryspil on the way back. I don't seem to find a phone number to call, and from my previous experiences I know how nasty Boryspil people are. Maybe, they changed a bit, but little hope. Anyway, if there is anybody who traveled with Ukr. passport and green card in different last names, please share your experiences. Of course, the best thing to do would be to change the Ukr passport into a new married name, but ... it is bordering to impossible and god knows how much time it would take here in the US. I tried and gave up. Please, who knows anything about it, reply ASAP. I already booked tickets to Ukraine, but what if there is a huge problem? I am traveling with my USC husband and daughter. They have Ukr visas and fine, but I have doubts about my status. Please help who knows anything.
