It's always safest to have a full-face passport style photo. However, you needn't have it taken at an official passport photo shop. As long as it is a clear head shot that fills and fits the required dimensions, you can use any recent picture of yourself in your possession.
: does it matter what type of photograph it is: with the right ear or a regular passport type photo?
