I have a dozen friends who are Ukrainian citizens and travelled to Chicago 4 years ago to cast their vote for President of Ukraine. Now, burdened with work, school, children and dependants they are unlikely to follow "Consul's" advice to drive to Chicago THREE times in order to excersize their right to vote. Several years ago an Honorary Consul was appointed in Detroit. Amidst big celebration the courier service was promised to facilitate official business between Detroit, Chicago and Washington.
Does anybody know if Ukrainians who are too far away from polling places can submit their "zayava" to register in Detroit? Is there such a thing as Absentee Ballot that can be sent to registered voters in advance? What will it take for a Chicago Consulate official(s) to make a roadtrip? I would appreciate if somebody from Uk.Consulate in Chicago or Embassy in Washington answered this question.
Dyakuju!
