A petition, which is made on you behalf by a relative in the US, is different from the DV lottery. Petitions require special forms, and are only available to nuclear family members (father-daughter, sister-brother, etc.)
: I tried to play DV Lottery for several years. Now I try to apply for non-immigrant visa. In DS-156 form it has a question whether anyone has ever filed an Immigrant Visa Petition on my behalf. If I took part in DV Lottery does this mean that I did it?
