Everybody going to the States devotedly filled in the pink form putting the signature under the 2 yrs Home Residency Requirement. Interesting, if Mrs.Ivanna Reed the Regional ACCELS/Kyiv Director for Moldova, Ukraine and Belarus or Assistant to the US Embassy Cultural Attache Ms.Marta Pereyma from PAS/Kyiv ever read the J-1 stuff posted here? They are so optimistic in their public speeches saying, that the American Universities Ukrainian alumni soon will turn Ukraine upside down. The US Congress still believes that the "public diplomacy" will change the world. This is probably the only argument which is left on their current agenda.Instead of thinking how to waive the requirements of the US Government Exchanges Programs it is a high time to inform the American Educational Exchange programs officials in Ukraine that the J-1 visa requirements violate the human rights of the US Government education exchanges participants to choose by themselves the place of their work/stay after a US program.
Mr.Oryshkevich is silent? Again the old song about "brain drain", sir? Your site gives some answers. Time to change the policies and sometimes think about Ukrainians who from the bottom of their small hearts thank the US tax payers for their money invested in the education of the Ukrainian young leaders who probably can build a strong network and lobby the Ukrainian issues from abroad.
Halya.
