Hey Everyone! I came to the US on the J-1 visa high school exchange program for one year in 1998. In 2000 I got married and applied for US citizenship. I was notified by INS that I need to apply for a waiver of the foreign residency. The lady at the INS office told me that I have a slim chance of getting it if I try to prove that my husband will suffer ("extreme hardship") I am not sure what angle to take on this issue. Did anybody go through the same procedure? or have a friend/relative who did? Please help me with an advice! Thank you very much!
