UCCA LAUNCHES NEW "BROWN BAG" LUNCH PROGRAM
New York, NY (UCCA) -- Since its founding in 1940, the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America, a not-for-profit educational institution, has raised awareness of Ukraine and represented the interests of the Ukrainian American Community. In an effort to expand upon this objective and generate positive exposure of Ukrainian topics the UCCA is launching a new pilot program this summer in New York -- a series of brown bag lunches.
The program will enable people who are interested in or curious about Ukrainian issues to come together on a monthly basis and discuss current topics. The "brown bag" lunch series will follow a basic format that will encourage dialogue, including brief opening remarks by the guest speaker followed by questions and answers in a relaxed atmosphere allowing for an open, frank discussion amongst the participants. As the program name states, should you like to eat during the sessions, we ask that you bring your own "brown bag" lunch. Coffee and soda will be available for our guests.
The first brown bag lunch will be held on Wednesday, June 30th at 12:30 at the UCCA National Office located at 203 Second Avenue in New York City. The guest speaker for the lunch will be the Honorable Volodymyr Yelchenko, Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the United Nations, who will discuss Ukraine position and policy regarding the Kosovo crisis.
