Yara Arts Group announces NOVA NOMADA – Lessons on "Transcultural Terrorism & Contemporary Myth Making" new Ukrainian eductainment and storytelling. Night #1 will feature "Bicycling in Transylvania," an ethno-electronic music piece by Staroviry (Kytasty-Hutz-Kytasty); "Dirtboy 13," storytelling performance by Eugene Hutz; and Ukrainian-Hamerican poetry by Virlana Tkacz. The opening event will take place on Sunday, June 6th 4:00 PM at Big Bar, 75 East 7th St (between 1st & 2nd Avenues) New York.
Night #2 will take place on Sunday June 13th and will feature surprise guests. Night #3 will be a Kupalo Freakout on Thursday June 24th. Night #4 will be a Kupalo Freakout (Julian Calendar) on Thursday July 7th. Artists interested in helping to create these events should contact Virlana Tkacz at (212) 475-6474.
Yara Arts Group creates original theatre pieces, art, music and poetry events that celebrate the cultures of the East. Owners Walter and Ray Lycholat opened Big Bar at 75 East 7th St (between 1st & 2nd Avenues) in 1991. Big Bar services the theatrical and arts community of the Lower Eastside.
