An action item protesting remarks made by U.S. State Department spokesperson James Rubin on the televised program "CNN: Late Edition" has been initiated by members of the Ukrainian American community.

The remarks were made as CNN journalist Wolf Blitzer interviewed Mr. Rubin on Sunday, May 2, 1999 about solutions to the Kosovo crisis. The offending quote: a "bunch of Ukrainians running around with guns at their sides".
