Embassy: Funding desperately needed for medical treatment of 10-year-old Ukrainian boy
Oleksey Skrynnyk was treating at the Shrine's Burn Hospital for Children in Boston in 2005 after high voltage electric burn injuries.
Oleksey's treatment lasted for three months during this initial visit.
He will be hospitalized for further treatment in May 2006 that will take five months.
Thereafter, Oleksey Skrynnyk will need to return for treatment annually.
Because of the extent of his injuries, and Shriner's specialization in treating such patients, it is extremely important for Oleksey to be able to come to the hospital
for treatment as required.
Also the hospital does not charge for the medical services that it provides to Oleksey, additional costs including transportation, living expenses and lost wages are born by the patient's family.
Ukrainian diplomats urge all Ukrainians of the United States of America to open their hearts and provide an adequate financial assistance to this Ukrainian boy.
