New Yorkers urged to vote for City Council candidate Brian Kavanagh
During the last decade we have seen our community go through many changes:
long time neighborhood businesses are gone, quality of life issues are not
being addressed, and residents are forced to live with more noise, more
traffic.

We are writing to you today because Primary Day, September 13th, is right
around the corner, and we wanted to take a moment to introduce you to Brian Kavanagh, a Democrat running for City Council in our neighborhood.
Brian will use his experience to fight effectively for affordable
housing, neighborhood preservation, education, quality of life issues.
During his 2 decades of volunteer work in our community, Brian has shown a
commitment to our area unmatched in the crowded field of Democratic
candidates. He started out working with at-risk youth and their families at
the Nativity Mission Center, where his involvement continues to this day.
He was an aide to Mayors Koch and Dinkins, where he played a key role in
launching the Department of Homeless Services. He then served as the
agency's first Policy Director.
As an attorney, he represented numerous nonprofit organizations and
individuals pro bono, including a battered women's shelter and a daycare
center.
As chief of staff for Gale Brewer, one of the city's most effective Council
Members, he was instrumental in passing the Domestic Worker Protection Act.
He also successfully worked to allocate funds for libraries, community
centers, playgrounds, senior centers, and other community resources.
Please vote for Brian on September 13th. And if you'd like to get
more involved, you can reach the campaign at 212-375-1150, or

Sincerely,
