American Jewish World Service - Volunteer Summer in Ukraine (June 19 to August 9, 2005)
Do you want to see up close the Orange Revolution and Ukraine's democratic deepening?
Would you like to participate in the revival of one of Judaism's oldest and most culturally-rich communities?
AJWS Volunteer Summer in Ukraine is a dynamic, hands-on cultural immersion and service learning experience for college students and recent college graduates (ages 18-25). Participants will work with two reemerging Ukrainian Jewish communities while also studying globalization, sustainable development and the call for social justice in Jewish texts.
The yearlong domestic program ensures that the summer is not an isolated experience. It includes three skill-building retreats, public presentations, and continued volunteer opportunities.
Applications are due on April 8, 2005 and can be downloaded from the Volunteer Summer page on the AJWS website.
