By N. Gawdiak

Washington DC — A protest by the White House in Washington, was held at noon on Monday, November 29, 2004, organized by Mykhailo Datsenko (Ukraina Citizens International Association), Larissa Fontana (Ukrainian American Community Network), and Liliya Ostapenko. Priests from area Ukrainian Orthodox and Catholic churches led a 'moleben' service.

Approximately 75 demonstrators called upon President Bush to support democracy in Ukraine. In speeches, chants and on protest signs, calls were made for Russia to end its interference in Ukrainian affairs, and for Ukraine to recognize Viktor Yuschenko as its democratically elected president. Several media organizations covered the event.
