Lighting the tree of Hope - From Cleveland to Kyiv

Cleveland, Ohio — Yesterday, Cleveland Ukrainians lit up a "Tree of Hope" clad in orange, the color of Ukraine's political opposition. The Christmas tree has always been symbolic of hope, and an orange one is symbolic of Ukrainian American wish for a peaceful and democratic end to the current election crisis that some are calling a revolution. "The lights shall not be put out until Victor Yuschenko is declared the president of Ukraine," said Renata Kosc-Harmatiy.

Organizers are calling all communities throughout the world to join them in this gesture of solidarity with the democratic forces in Ukraine.
