Orphaned Children with HIV in Ukraine need your help
Makiivsky Orphanage for HIV Children has everyday and critical needs for HIV/AIDS Orphans
A recent visit to the Makiivsky Orphanage by Alla Galych, a very compassionate Ukrainian humanitarian worker and an acquaintance of many years, left this orphanage going home in tears. “The situation there affected me badly”, say’s Alla, “They have nothing and I need to do something about it, hence the reason I contacted you”.
We at the UOCFP have made this a top priority and have promised to help in any way possible.
Makiivsky Orphanage for HIV Children, Makiivka, Ukraine

According to the information received on June 22, 2004 there are 80 children (ages 3 months - 8 years) residing at this orphanage with the HIV infection.
They are asking for the following essential needs:
Shoes (sizes for 3 months to eight years of age)
Clothing (sizes 2-10) (male & female)
Toys (washable and developing toys)
Literature (color books, children’s books)
Stationery and school supplies
A computer for administration work
FAX and answering machine
Crucial Medicine NEEDED for this type of treatment. This must be purchased in Ukraine. [Note: The “hr” stands for the Ukrainian currency] This is a one-month supply for 80 children.

- Tseftrykason - 10 packages = $90hr
- Tsefatoksim - 2 bottles = $160hr
- Tselistoderm - 1 package = $20hr
- Globiron - 1 bottle = $100hr
- Fosfoluhel - 2 packages = $11hr
- Baktysubtul - 2 packages = $20hr
- Tsuprofloksatsyn - 1 package = $3hr
- Elocom ointment - 1 tube = $30hr
- Hospisept - 1 bottle = $55hr
FOR TOTAL SUM $1183 HR (approximately $225.00 USD) per each month for 80 kids.
THIS IS TRULY A FORGOTTEN ORPHANAGE. These are critical needs.
How you can help? Please contact us @610-828-8957. These medications are needed desperately and on a monthly basis. All medications must be purchased in Ukraine. We would like to send to this orphanage $225.00 per month from now until they do not need our help anymore. Clothing and other items: Maybe you could organize a collection drive in your community or place of work. Also we need Logistical help: We need to store, pack and ship these items to Ukraine (but not the drugs). Volunteer HELP is needed. Help will also be needed to cover this expense.
PLEASE give us your support, as this orphanage’s needs are many. Someone’s got to help them. Please be a part in this operation to “adopt the orphanage” and help its 80 children who have HIV.
