Moscow threatens Ukraine with bombs
No reaction from United States but on October 29, Ukrainian Americans will respond
Ukrainian Americans will add their voices to a series of worldwide protests condemning Russia's encroachment of Ukraine's sovereign territory. In late September, Russian workers began constructing a dam across the Kerch Strait in the Azov Sea, with a view towards linking the Russian mainland to the Ukrainian island of Tuzla.
Speaking at a media briefing last week, the Chief of Russia's Presidential Administration, Oleksandr Voloshyn, told Ukrainian journalists "Russia will never give up the Kerch Strait to Ukraine ... If necessary, we will do everything possible and impossible to uphold our position. If necessary, we will bomb the place."
The protests are scheduled ahead of an October 30 meeting between the Foreign Ministers of Ukraine and Russia in Kyiv. Joining protests in the Ukrainian cities of Kyiv and Lviv, Ukrainian Americans will gather in Washington DC, New York, Chicago and Los Angeles on Wednesday, October 29:
