"Not To Be Forgotten" - A Chronicle of the Communist Inquisition in Ukraine 1917-1991 is a museum exposition featuring 70 large panels that create a pictorial and documentary chronicle of the crimes of the communist regime in Ukraine. The exposition contains never before seen materials from KGB archives and unique and provocative photographs that document the tragic events of Ukraine's Soviet past:
- (1917-1920) The Bolshevik Coup and the Beginning of the Terror
- (1921-1923) The USSR Is Born Out of Famine and Violence
- (1924-1931) The Cost of Industrialization and Forcible Collectivization
- (1932-1933) The Ukrainian Holocaust
- (1934-1938) The Collapse of Ukrainianization and the "Great Terror"
- (1939-1941) The Conspiracy of Two Dictators and Its Consequences
- (1942-1952) The Last Decade of Stalin's Dictatorship
- (1946-1947) Famine Strikes a Third Blow
- (1953-1964) The Thaw
- (1965-1985) Bloodless Totalitarianism
- (1986-1991) The Collapse
Also included is a 15 panel display of the Solovetsky Islands, a notorious concentration camp dating back to the early eighteenth century where thousands of the Czar's and, subsequently, during the twentieth century, the commissars' political opponents were incarcerated, tortured and killed.
The "Memorial" Society is a non-governmental organization based in Kyiv, Ukraine. "Memorial's" mission is to unearth, figuratively and literally, the truth about the 7 decade long reign of communist terror in Ukraine and to apprise the world about the historical record.
