Lakers Expand Their Streak to 6 Wins; Sonics Fight Unsuccessfully to Keep From Losing Another One
by Max Pyziur
During the first games after the All-Star break both Ukrainian nationals teams saw playing action on Tuesday February 11th.
In what has become commonplace Kobe Bryant carried the Lakers to their
sixth straight win contributing
42 points to the team's 121-93 win over the Denver Nuggets. Slava
Medvedenko saw playing time in the last six minutes of the fourth
quarter. He was 2 for 4 in field goals for 4 points along with 1
offensive rebound and 1 assist.
Plagued with injuries the Celtics were questionable to win in Seattle.
Nevertheless, in the first two quarters they piled on the points to
put it 55-33 at the half. As has been the Seattle's habit, the Sonics
rallied in
the second half but not enough to win, falling to Boston 82-76.
Vitaly Potapenko did help roll back the Celtics lead both offensively
and defensively with 9 minutes of playing time in the fourth quarter.
He was 2 for 3 in field goals for 4 points along with 1 defensive rebound,
2 steals and 1 blocked shot.
