First Ukrainian funeral mass broadcasted from Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church in Hollywood by EulogyCast via the Internet
Los Angeles, CA, Oct. 7 Paul Luciw is the first Ukrainian whose funeral mass was broadcasted over the Internet for his friends and family all over the world to witness and participate in. Many members of his family and friends, who could not attend, viewed the services via the Internet from their homes across the globe. This broadcast was made possible by cooperation between Callanan Mortuary and EulogyCast. Callanan Mortuary is the only funeral home in Los Angeles that is offering complimentary EulogyCast services to their clients. EulogyCast provides live and recorded broadcasts of funeral services for family and friends who cannot attend the actual service. Geographical, financial, bad weather and physical limitations are among many reasons why people cannot attend funeral services. Paul Luciw, 78, of Oxnard, passed away on Monday, Sept. 30, 2002, at St. John's Pleasant Valley Hospital in Camarillo, surrounded by his loving family. He was a county resident for 12 years. He was born Jan. 20, 1924, in Doha, Ukraine. His 40-year working career spanned a variety of occupations in Europe and the USA. Prior to his retirement in 1983, he was employed at Continental Airlines as a mechanic. Mr. Luciw, loving husband and father, is survived by his wife, Marisa Wanda Luciw; daughter Susanna Monica Shpak and son-in-law, nieces and nephews, cousins, a great number of extended family, and many lifelong friends. The events also marked the first time a funeral mass at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church has been viewable over the Internet. Mr. Luciw’s funeral services can be viewed at www.eulogycast.com until November 4, 2002. |
