A Call for Action to the Ukrainian American Community from the Action Ukraine Coalition

It is urgent that the Ukrainian American community make itself heard on an issue of critical importance to Ukraine — i.e., extension of permanent normal trade relations to Ukraine.

Congressman Bob Schaffer of Colorado, one of the co-chairs of the Ukrainian Congressional Caucus, announced on March 11, 2002 that on March 13, 2002 he will introduce a bill in the House extending permanent normal trade relations (formerly designated "most favored nation" or MFN treatment) to Ukraine. THIS BILL WILL NOT MOVE THROUGH CONGRESS WITHOUT YOUR HELP.

We therefore appeal to you to immediately contact your Congressional Representative and Senators to urge them to support this vital legislation. Due to security considerations with incoming mail, we recommend that you e-mail, call or fax your congressional representatives.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our headquarters in Washington by phone (202) 737-6090 or fax us at (202) 737-6091. Our e-mail is uaccw@aol.com

Thank you for your attention to this issue and your help for Ukraine. UKRAINE NEEDS THIS HELP NOW.
