Ukrainians in Paris - Les Ukrainnienes de Paris | ||||
It seems that every August Paris is figuratively hit with both a drought and a torrent. Engaging in what has come to be known as "Le Grand Depart" large numbers of Parisians make their way to vacation spots leaving much of the city a veritable ghost town. Conversely, tourists from other parts of the world descend on the French capital, swarming to the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, the Notre Dame Cathedral, and the Arc de Triomphe, the city’s most acclaimed attractions. For the veteran tourist versed in these primary Parisian destinations there are other lures. Though they may not be etched in history and in place in similar monumental proportions, nevertheless given their particular Ukrainian theme, they add to the rich cosmopolitan nature of the city in which they reside and are worthy of visits.
