U.S.-Ukraine Foundation 10th Anniversary Conference Series
|
The U.S.-Ukraine Foundation and the Congressional Ukrainian Caucus will sponsor the second conference in the 10th Anniversary Conference Series in Washington, DC on September 13-14, 2001. The conference, to be held at the U.S. Capitol, Hart Senate Office Building and the Ronald Reagan Federal Building, will focus on the U.S.-Ukraine Community Partnerships Project for Local Government Training and Education, an innovative technical assistance project funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development.
This conference, following the U.S.-Ukraine Foundation’s highly-acclaimed Food Systems Conference held this past May on Capitol Hill, will focus on the successes in delivering technical assistance to the local community in Ukraine. It is critically important for U.S. policymakers to be aware of grass roots activities working successfully in Ukraine and how needed reforms can be stimulated.
The conference will provide a unique opportunity for participants to meet not only with mayors and city representatives of the 14 U.S. and Ukrainian partner cities active in delivering U.S. technical assistance to Ukraine, but also with U.S. Congressional leaders, U.S. Administration officials and representatives of other non-profit and commercial organizations interested in community development issues in Ukraine.
The U.S.-Ukraine Foundation and the Congressional Ukrainian Caucus will also be hosting a Congressional reception on Thursday, September 13, 2001 at 6 pm in Room 902 of the Hart Senate Office Building, a photo exhibit featuring the accomplishments of the Foundation’s Community Partnerships Project in the Rotunda of the Russell Senate Office Building and a keynote noon luncheon in the Ronald Reagan Building on Friday, September 14 (see enclosed agenda for conference details).
These events in our nation’s capital provide excellent venues for corporate or individual visibility and sponsorship. The Foundation invites you to join as a conference sponsor (see enclosure) and to attend! You or your firm will be prominently recognized for taking a leadership role in these events.
Even if a sponsorship is not possible, the Foundation still wishes to invite you to attend the September 13-14 conference. The conference cost, including Thursday’s reception and Friday’s lunch, is only $75 per person. As space /seating will be limited throughout the conference, a reservation is required.
